hola! estamos a qui! lo lo gramos! gracias por sus oraciones!
(hello! we're here! we made it! thank you for your prayers!)

everything went seamlessly. in fact, it was one of the easiest trips through customs that i have ever had. orientation is finished, showers have started and bedtime is sounding amazing. we just wanted you to know that we are safe.

here are some pictures from the day: airport fun- we had gotten really good at airport fun! (and yes, those are the same clothes...)

tomorrow is a day with the women at "nueva imagen." (new image) pray for these treasures of the Lord as we love on them and learn from them.

amor!

  1. So glad you have made it there! I was reading in 2 Timothy 2 this morning and had to share this blurb from Max Lucado from his book On the Anvil: In the shop of the blacksmith, there are three types of tools. There are tools on the junk pile: outdated, broken, dull, rusty. There are tools on the anvil: melted down, molten hot, moldable, changeable. There are tools of usefulness: sharpened, primed, defined, mobile. They lie ready in the blacksmiths tool chest, available to their master, fulfilling their calling.
We are all somewhere in the blacksmiths shop. We are either on the scrap pile, on the anvil, or in the tool chest. (Some of us have been on all three.)
From the shelves to the workbench, from the water to the fire.... I’m sure that somewhere you’ll see yourself. The rubbish pile of broken tools, the anvil of recasting, the hands of the Master- it’s a simultaneously joyful and painful voyage.
And for you who make the journey- who leave the the heap and enter the fire, dare to be pounded on God’s anvil, and doggedly seek to discover your own purpose- take courage, for you await the privilege of being called “God’s chosen instruments.”
I hope this has been a blessing and encouragement for you. You're in my thoughts and prayers. ~Sue
